About the event
What is the relationship between sex and attachment? Are these biological systems distinct, or do they overlap? And are they synergetic or opposing forces?
These are pivotal questions, as many common psychotherapy presentations and human predicaments are deeply intertwined with them. In this workshop, we will explore the insights that attachment theory, neurobiology, and the neuroscience of attachment might provide. We will also examine the clinical implications of these findings.
Next, we will delve into the relationship between different attachment styles and sexual satisfaction, as well as overall intimacy satisfaction within couples. We will explore the strategies that individuals with distinct attachment styles may adopt to navigate the constraints of their attachment orientations. Additionally, we will consider potential therapeutic interventions, both for individuals and couples, that can help overcome barriers to sexual fulfilment and foster satisfying intimacy, regardless of their original attachment orientation.
